Role of the Vice Chairman According to the Amended Constitution of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, the Vice Chairman in the absence of the Chairman shall preside and shall have all powers, privileges and duties of the Chairman. He shall have the power to vote at any meeting. Over the years, the Office of the Vice Chairman has evolved into an integral part of the San Carlos Apache Tribal Government assuming functions that include serving as a spokesperson for the administration's policy, as an adviser to the Chairman, and as a symbol of the Apache people’s concern or support. Another primary role of the Vice Chairman includes meeting tribal leaders and heads of state and attending official functions on behalf of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. |
